The Adria: A Comprehensive Guide to Staying in One of London’s Boutique Luxury Townhouses
Stepping into the Adria Hotel in London is like embarking on a luxurious journey through time and elegance, where every moment promises comfort, charm, and an unforgettable experience. This is my review of The Adria Hotel; a stunning 19th Century 5-star townhouse boutique hotel located in South Kensington, London. The location was good and the townhouse afforded a small boutique atmosphere with only 24 rooms and suites across the upper four levels of this white painted Georgian house.t

In this review of The Beaumont Hotel in London, I’ll detail my experience of the location, the restaurants, and of course the accommodation and facilities at the hotel itself. Read below to find out everything you need to know before your next trip to London.
Voco St. David’s Cardiff Review | How This Waterfront Hotel Elevated My Stay
Cardiff was somewhere I’d never been before, so being invited by Eat PR & Marketing for a short weekend stay at Voco in Cardiff Bay, I was looking forward to the opportunity to visit a new location and new hotel, as well as being my first Voco hotel stay too (a group of currently 41 open hotels with 34 more in the pipeline). Any reviews though by The Private Traveller are completely independent.
The Londoner Hotel Review | Super Boutique Luxury in Leicester Square
This new hotel, self-styled as the world’s first super boutique hotel opened in September 2021, slightly later than planned but was obviously impacted by Covid. It had been on my radar for a while and I was eagerly anticipating when I’d be able to visit, so I was very lucky to be able to stay for a weekend in March 2022.
Indulgence Personified: A Luxurious Escape at One Aldwych - A Leading Hotels of the World Review
The saying "Location, location, location" perfectly applies to One Aldwych. Its central position makes it incredibly easy to access — just a short taxi ride from King’s Cross or a quick Underground trip (had there not been a strike on our arrival day).
L'Oscar London - Romantic, Baroque & Boutique Luxury Hotel; A Leading Hotels of the World Review
While I enjoy revisiting my favourite five-star hotels in London, I also love discovering new properties and locations. L’Oscar had been on my radar for some time (it’s been open for just over three years), but a Covid-related cancellation meant I had to postpone my visit. Almost a year later, I was finally able to reschedule and experience this unique hotel.
Artistry and Elegance: A Review of The Fife Arms
Having had to cancel a trip to Positano in Italy at short notice due to the change in Covid-19 travel restrictions, we decided to look for somewhere within the UK and opted for a two-centre short break between Gleneagles and The Fife Arms (you can read my full review on The Gleneagles Hotel here).
Unveiling Gleneagles Hotel: An Iconic Retreat - A Comprehensive Review of Scottish Heritage
Our stay — a last-minute booking through Leading Hotels of the World — came about after we had to cancel Le Sirenuse in Positano due to new Italian Covid-testing rules for UK travellers. I’d built up Leaders Club points, so paid cash for the first night and used points for the next two.
Sofitel London Heathrow Review | Prestige Suite Luxury at Terminal 5
I’ve loved this hotel ever since it opened, it was a game-changer in terms of the standard of hotels at Heathrow, not least because of the direct connection to the Terminal 5 building. I love everything about airports and travel, so being able to stay so close in such nice surroundings and, with the runway views if you’re lucky enough to be located in the outward facing parts of the hotel, this makes for a fantastic stay.
The Bus Stop Gifford Review | Unique Glamping Stay in Scotland
Quite a different accommodation choice for ThePrivateTraveller - this was actually chosen by “Mrs” ThePrivateTraveller as a Christmas present; but as soon as I found out about it I loved the idea; and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Hotel Tresanton Review | Chic Seaside Retreat in St. Mawes, Cornwall
Tresanton is a small, ultra luxe boutique hotel in a cluster of traditional Cornish houses overlooking the sea. You will get a flavour from the hotel website but this is so elegantly designed and presented, with excellent unassuming service.
Sofitel London Heathrow Review | Luxury Airport Hotel at Terminal 5
We flew to London the night before and stayed over at the Hotel Sofitel London Heathrow - this is in such a great location and connected directly to the terminal.
The Landmark London Review | Timeless Five-Star Luxury in Marylebone
We visit London regularly, and with so many exceptional places to stay, the choice is never easy. While The Landmark London may not always be the most high-profile name, it consistently delivers – offering a superb location, timeless elegance, and a level of service that rivals the very best in the city.
Cow Hollow Hotel Manchester Review | Boutique Urban Hideaway in the Northern Quarter
I soon spotted the Cow Hollow Hotel, not least for the captivating name (named after a neighbourhood district in San Francisco apparently), but realising this was voted (currently) #4 out of 123 in Manchester for Traveller Ranking and #1 for Best Value I decided quite quickly that would be the place to stay. A fully restored and converted Victorian brick warehouse, this really is a cool and hip boutique hotel.
The Milestone Hotel London Review | Victorian Splendour & Timeless Luxury
Whenever we stay in London my first “go to” site to check hotels is the Leading Hotels of the World. We have stayed quite a number of times as The Café Royal near Piccadilly, The Landmark at Marylebone, One Aldwych and The Langham when it was part of this group too.
