Royal Escapes: Luxe Marrakech & Majestic Atlas Mountains Adventure
This was the first visit to North Africa and I will definitely be going back to Marrakesh, as well as wanting to try out different locations too. We had a week for this trip and were looking for somewhere not too far away (easily accessible via direct BA flights). I had seen Royal Mansour featured in the Monica Galetti and Giles Coren BBC TV programme, Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby (the hotel featured in episode 4 of series 1) and I soon as I saw the programme I knew I had to visit.
Not only did we get to experience the magic of the Medina and Marrakesh itself, Royal Mansour was just out of the world (but also part of Leading Hotels of the World which is a personal favourite). If that wasn’t enough, we also got to experience a very different side of Morocco up in the Atlas Mountains (only an hour away) and the exceptional Richard Branson/Virgin Limited Edition Hotel Kasbah Tamadot (apparently the outright favourite of his mother, Eve Branson). Such a wonderful trip and one to be repeated.
Just this week I was watching the Fred Sirieix TV programme, Remarkable Places to Eat which featured Marrakesh (Series 2; Episode 1) - so made me want to go back!

Day 1 Direct British Airways flight from London Gatwick to Marrakesh, overnight Royal Mansour
Day 2 Royal Mansour, Marrakesh
Day 3 Royal Mansour, Marrakesh
Day 4 Royal Mansour, Marrakesh
Day 5 Transfer to Asni by car (1 hour), overnight Kasbah Tamadot
Day 6 Kasbah Tamadot, Asni
Day 7 Kasbah Tamadot, Asni
Day 8 Kasbah Tamadot, Asni
Day 9 Return to Menara airport for onward direct British Airways flight to London Gatwick
