Amangati by Aman: A First Look at Aman’s New Luxury Yacht
As someone who loves both new hotel openings and new ships/yachts, the announcement of Amangati by Aman immediately caught my attention. Aman has long been synonymous with serene design, extraordinary locations and deeply personalised service — so the idea of bringing that philosophy to sea feels like a natural evolution.
Launching in Spring 2027, Aman at Sea will debut with its inaugural luxury motor yacht, Amangati (Sanskrit for “peaceful motion”). Designed as a floating sanctuary, the yacht will welcome just 94 guests across 47 expansive suites, offering exceptional space, privacy and Aman’s signature atmosphere of calm.
Aman takes to the sea with Amangati — an ultra-luxury yacht experience launching a new era of Aman travel.
While full details are still emerging, Amangati by Aman is already shaping up to be one of the most intriguing luxury yacht launches in years. It’s certainly a launch I’ll be watching closely as Aman prepares to take its signature sense of tranquillity from land to sea.
What We Know So Far
Reservations are now being taken, and knowing the Senior Director for America Sales from Orient Express days, I would be well placed to help with your new reservation. Journeys for the first year have been announced, all of which are in the Mediterranean, but if you wanted to exclusively hire the whole yacht the quicker you inquire the better. Some voyages may still be available as a whole yacht buyout, but normally this would need to be booked perhaps two years in advance.
In snapshot, there will be:
Four dining venues (Alira, Hiori, Akari and Aman Grill)
Six social lounges (The Jazz Club, Cigar Lounge, The Bar at Aman Grill, Sake Bar, Pool Bar, Gelato Bar)
Selora Marina with water toys and two extendable wings
Infinity Pool and two sea pools with sun loungers and daybeds
Aman Spa and Fitness Studio (Beauty lounge and Medi Spa)
Cinema
Youth Lounge
Starlink ® Wi-Fi for reliable connectivity
Tailor-made shoreside experiences
Two helicopter landing pads
Boutique
Yoga & Meditation Deck
Accommodation
The suites aboard Amangati by Aman are designed to feel more like spacious Aman resort residences at sea, with just 47 expansive accommodations ensuring exceptional privacy, minimalist design and uninterrupted ocean views throughout the yacht. Deluxe Suites look very special, but if you want to experience this in ultimate luxury and exclusivity, then the Aman Suite, accessed by a private lift, is Amangati’s signature suite. Spanning 354 square metres (3,811 square feet), this comes with an in-suite massage room and sweeping terrace with private Jacuzzi, located aft on Deck 5.
Dining
Dining on Amangati by Aman will reflect the brand’s celebrated culinary philosophy, combining refined international cuisine, seasonal ingredients and elegant oceanfront settings designed to feel more like an Aman resort than a traditional cruise ship. All meals and soft drinks are included at the main restaurant Alira, with speciality dining options (including private and in-suite dining) available at extra cost.
Experiences
The experiences aboard Amangati by Aman will centre on wellness, cultural immersion and relaxed exploration, with curated shore excursions, holistic spa rituals and thoughtful onboard programming designed to reflect Aman’s signature sense of tranquillity.
Why It Feels Very “Aman”
Although Amangati by Aman marks the brand’s first move into ocean travel, the concept remains unmistakably Aman. Rather than resembling a traditional luxury cruise ship, the yacht has been conceived as a floating extension of the Aman philosophy — centred on serenity, privacy and space. Expect minimalist design inspired by Aman’s iconic resorts, expansive suites that prioritise tranquillity and personal space, and a strong emphasis on wellness and holistic experiences. With just 94 guests on board and a high staff-to-guest ratio, the atmosphere is intended to feel intimate and deeply personalised, much closer to staying at a secluded Aman resort than embarking on a conventional cruise.
My First Thoughts
My immediate first thought is when can I experience this for myself - the first voyage is a 6 night trip (Balearic Adventure) from Palma de Mallorca to Nice (and including Mahón, Barcelona, Palamós, Marseille, Saint-Tropez). There is an unenviable selection of suite types from the “entry” Deluxe through Premier and Signature, to the jewel in the crown Grand and (the one and only) Aman Suite.
What will it cost?
A 5 night journey will cost from $38,500 for a Deluxe Suite, the “entry” level. BUT, with these suites showcasing open-plan living, with 65.1 to 67.9 square metres (703 to 731 square feet) complemented by full-height windows and private terraces, these feel anything but entry level. Space like this could be bigger than some small apartments. Aman will price by suite, not per person, unlike most other cruise lines, not that Aman is really like any other cruise line. Personally, as often a solo traveller on the sea (‘Mrs’ Private Traveller having quite negative views on ocean travel) I usually have to double the headline price for only one traveller versus a couple.
While children are allowed, with a minimum age of 6 months as is often the case, infants (6 months–under 2 years) can share a suite with their parents (up to three guests in the suite). Children aged 2+ must occupy a separate suite with a parent or guardian and guests under 18 must travel with a responsible adult for the entire voyage. There are also a few onboard restrictions for minors, such as under-18s cannot use the spa, fitness centre or jacuzzi; and some shore excursions and facilities may have age limits. Adjoining cabins are available though, and there are also 10 bookable staff cabins if you were travelling with say a nanny.
