Welcome to my review of Hotel Kämp; a stunning 5-star hotel located in central Helsinki. Being part of Leading Hotels of the World, a favourite collection of mine, and realising where it was located as well as having a spa, that made me sold on where we should book for our stay in Finland’s capital city.

The location was good and the townhouse afforded a small boutique atmosphere with only 24 rooms and suites across the upper four levels of this white painted Georgian house.t

Formerly Alto Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa by Tánica Hotels, this property has been part of Nayara Resorts since 2020 — a luxury eco-lodge set deep in the Atacama Desert. Over our 4-night stay (3 full days), we balanced nearby excursions with downtime in our suite — complete with an open-view front terrace and a private rear terrace overlooking the mountains — as well as soothing treatments and water rituals at the tranquil Puri Spa.

Capella Hotels first caught my attention when they operated Capella Pedregal in Cabo. With their growing collection across Asia and the Maldives, the tented retreat at Capella Ubud immediately stood out – I knew it was a place I had to experience.

Looking for a relaxing fortnight in Mexico before heading further to the USA and Palm Springs for Modernism Week, we first visited Cartesiano in Puebla before travelling up to the Yucatán Peninsula for two Chablé Hotels.

I had spotted Chablé Yucatán a while back, this property had opened in 2016 and is currently part of the Leading Hotels of the World portfolio; always a favourite go-to of mine for hotel choices. The stunning casitas throughout the resort all with private pools looked amazing, and they certainly did not disappoint in reality.

The saying "Location, location, location" perfectly applies to One Aldwych. Its central position makes it incredibly easy to access — just a short taxi ride from King’s Cross or a quick Underground trip (had there not been a strike on our arrival day).

While I enjoy revisiting my favourite five-star hotels in London, I also love discovering new properties and locations. L’Oscar had been on my radar for some time (it’s been open for just over three years), but a Covid-related cancellation meant I had to postpone my visit. Almost a year later, I was finally able to reschedule and experience this unique hotel.

Having stayed at other Constance hotels in the past, I was aware of Ephelia on Mahé but to be honest had discounted before in favour of the Leading Hotels of the World sister, Constance Lemuria on Praslin.

Our stay — a last-minute booking through Leading Hotels of the World — came about after we had to cancel Le Sirenuse in Positano due to new Italian Covid-testing rules for UK travellers. I’d built up Leaders Club points, so paid cash for the first night and used points for the next two.

We had such a wonderful hotel experience here - as well as this summarised review I also plan to post another blog detailing and contrasting with our stay at the other LHW property we visited on the same trip, the equally impressive Hotel Villa Dubrovnik.

After researching which countries were accessible and not requiring a quarantine on the return to the UK, we opted for our first post-lockdown trip to be Croatia (you can check out the full itinerary here). I very quickly opted for a two-centre trip, flying to Dubrovnik with British Airways first then travelling onto Hvar by ferry.

Looking for a different experience after a previous city-centre stay in Venice, I turned to Leading Hotels of the World and quickly discovered San Clemente Palace Kempinski — a luxurious retreat set on its own private island, just minutes from Piazza San Marco by complimentary boat.
